Galvin Engineering Pty Ltd is committed to ensuring the privacy of your information and to respecting your rights. This policy aims to inform you how we intend to do this.

CUSTOMER PRIVACY

Information We Collect

  • For each client, the information we collect is necessary for our organisations activities. Items of collection include but are not limited to: names and addresses, business and/or personal, telephone and fax numbers, e-mail addresses, bank account details, ABN's, credit references and history information, financial information, etc...

Privacy Of Information

  • We will not use your personal information for any purpose which is not related to the products and services we provide to you, or for any purpose for which you would not reasonably expect us to use the information, without obtaining your prior permission.

Security of Information

  • Additionally, all stored customer information is protected from unauthorized access through the use of secure passwords and other security procedures such as locked cabinets or safes.

EMPLOYEE PRIVACY

Information We Collect

  • Galvin Engineering's Privacy Policy is guided by the National Privacy Principles and the Privacy Amendment Act. For each employee, the information we collect is necessary for our organisations activities. Items of collection include but are not limited to: employee's name, employee's personal and emergency contact details, employee's taxation, banking or superannuation details, employee's terms & conditions of employment, employee's membership of professional trade association or union, past employment details, history, resumes and references, etc... Also, in the process of working with Galvin Engineering we will record information on employee's such as hours of work, training records, details regarding performance or conduct, salary or wages, records of long service, annual, sick, maternity or other leave, etc.

Privacy of Information

  • We will not use your personal information for any purpose which is not related to a current or former employment relationship with us, or for any purpose for which you would not reasonably expect us to use the information, without obtaining your prior permission.

Security of Information

  • Additionally, all stored employee information is protected from unauthorized access through the use of secure passwords and other security procedures such as locked cabinets or safes.

Workplace Surveillance

  • Galvin Engineering's Workplace Surveillance Policy is guided by the Surveillance Device Act. The act regulates the use of optical surveillance, listening devices, and tracking devices in respect of PRIVATE activities. It is our policy to prohibit the use of listening devices or cameras to record or monitor PRIVATE activities and conversations.
  • It is important to note that this applies to PRIVATE activities and conversations, but does not apply to activities or conversations where the parties should reasonably expect to be overheard or observed. Galvin Engineering has had cause to use surveillance equipment in the past to successfully gain proof of illegal or unacceptable activities, and whilst such incidents are rare, it may be necessary to use such equipment again in the future if similar serious circumstances occur. Therefore, in the interests of all stakeholders, Galvin Engineering reserves the right to use such devices to record or monitor activities or conversations carried out in circumstances in which the participants should reasonably expect to be observed or overhead. This could apply to most activities conducted in the common use areas, excluding bathrooms.

EMPLOYEE'S PROPERTY

  • The employer, property owner and employee all have an implied duty of care regarding an employee's property and possessions that are brought onto the premises.
  • Galvin Engineering cannot guarantee an employee's property or possessions against damage or theft or any other detrimental events. Employees park their cars on the premises, and bring property and possessions onto the premises at their own risk. We do not accept responsibility for such items. However, the Directors will assess all incidents on a "case-by-case" basis and apply discretion when appropriate.
