Reducing the risk of contamination; largely driven by hand hygiene compliance is the key to winning the fight against MRSA. Helping this by providing ease to use, clean
and maintain range of taps for all situations is a constant drive of Galvin Engineering. CliniLever® is the answer for users, hospital engineers and infection control practitioners in today's modern healthcare environments.
Here is what we have designed in to CliniLever® to benefit you the end user:
Easy to reach lever handles, promote the use of elbow or wrist to activate the water flow, breaking the chain of contamination caused through touching with a hand.
The contemporary design with smooth lines and curves allows an easier surface to clean and reduces water droplets forming that could harbour bacteria.
It is recognised that hobs and benchtops should be free of equipment to reduce the risk of bacteria build up and to allow easy cleaning. Wall mounted taps avoid clutter on the basin top allowing faster and more effective cleaning and promote a cleaner room environment.

Design features includes a horizontal angled spout to reducing water becoming trapped and stagnant. This helps to minimise bacteria growth and the build up of scale and other TDS that may be a source of food for bacteria.
An innovative design on the wall mounted range enables easy water supply shut-off, allowing the water to be isolated at the tap, saving whole patient rooms and wards being affected.
Often an overlooked factor in the purchase decision, maintenance costs can have a significant impact on the life costs of a facility.
An example of one Australian hospital that has a 20 minute on the job time limit before an outside contractor must be called out. The cost of the call out as well as the planning needed for the contractors to be able to access the tap, can escalate a simple washer replacement to $1500-$2000 per repair.
With CliniLever's® ability to isolate the tap at the wall, saving whole patient rooms and wards being affected, reduces a huge cost in planning for the maintenance team and contractors to be able complete the job.
CliniLever® is manufactured in Australia if something does break down, replacement parts are easily sourced with minimal downtime to the facility.
Almost 25% of all the water used in a typical hospital washroom comes out of taps. A tap with a flow of 12 litres per minute which is used 100 times a day for 20 seconds each time will use close to 400 litres of water each day. By specifying a CliniLever® tap with the required WELS rating may provide savings of up to 13%.
