New Alkimos College in Perth’s North opened its doors, providing local students access to an exceptional secondary education in world-class learning facilities.

With focus on creating and maintaining a school culture of a ‘high performance and high care environment’ for students, staff and the community, Foundation Principal Nancy McNally is working with the community to lead the creation and direction of the school and develop a strong vision and ethos.

Alkimos College is one of only sixteen schools chosen to have a Specialised Autism Spectrum Disorder Learning Program providing students with a seamless Kindergarten to Year 12 program if required. There will also be an academic extension pathway and a whole school approach to STEM (science, technology, engineering, maths) to provide ‘hands-on’ and ‘minds-on’ lessons for students.

Included in the first stage of the $48.4 million construction were state of the art classrooms, specialist science laboratories, food and textiles studios, gymnasium, library, design technology workshops, administration and student services. Areas for students to play and socialise include an extensive cafeteria, landscaped courtyards and multipurpose playing courts.

Because of our comprehensive experience in the education sector coupled with our passion to provide water solutions for a healthier environment, Galvin Specialised was chosen as a partner to assist in design and supply of taps, water management systems and fixtures.

Specifically designed to satisfy the needs in a school environment, our products are durable and resilient while at the same time help to minimise water consumption and optimise health, safety and security. Our fully compliant Ezy-Drink® range offers robust high-quality performance while also providing high UV and fungal and bacterial attack resistance due to its AS 4020 approved EPDM rubber mouthguard, and the Flowmatic® Automatic Flusher helps reducing the spread of infectious diseases by eliminating touching while at the same time minimising vandalism due to its concealed nature.
