Description:

Laing O'Rourke constructed new purpose-built, high-quality facilities for the most comprehensive animal research and teaching centre in Australia.

The world-class $80 million School of Veterinary Science for the University of Queensland was built at the university's Gatton campus, 90 kilometres west of Brisbane.

The project involved construction of four new buildings including a veterinary hospital, teaching and research facilities, a substation, and one refurbished building housing teaching laboratories.

Key challenges for the team were the management of multiple work fronts and achievement of the fixed completion date to enable the transfer of the existing school which was located at the university's St Lucia campus.

The School is on one campus, boasts state-of-the-art facilities, and benefits from integration with a number of other related university faculties already at UQ Gatton.

The purpose-built facilities provide world-class research and teaching accommodation for the school. Core features include:

Products Specified and Installed: CliniMix® Thermostatic Mixing Valves in Stainless Steel Cabinets, Surgical Lever Tapware, Laboratory Tapware, Flowmatic® Electronic Tapware, Stainless Steel Ball Valves, Floor Drains and Wastes
