Galvin Enters a New Era with Purpose-Built Headquarters and Manufacturing Facility

The fourth-generation Australian family company has opened a purpose-built headquarters and manufacturing facility in Perth, strengthening its capability to design and manufacture Australian-made taps and valves while advancing sustainability, safety, quality and collaboration.

Perth, Western Australia – Galvin Engineering has opened its new headquarters and factory in Malaga, Western Australia, marking a major investment in Australian manufacturing and the local production of taps and valves for the commercial building industry. Conceived as a fourth-generation Galvin building, the facility builds on the company’s longstanding roots in Perth while preparing the business for its next chapter.

The purpose-built facility brings advanced manufacturing, warehousing, quality testing, and collaborative workspaces together under one roof. Its modern, minimal design reflects the quality and capability of the business, while creating an environment that supports safer, more efficient product development and attracts great people. It strengthens Galvin’s ability to support hospitals, mental health and aged care facilities, schools, universities, prisons, and public facilities across Australia and through its global partnerships.

Investing in Australian Manufacturing

Established in Perth in 1930 and family-owned since Roy Galvin bought into the business in 1947, Galvin continues to invest in local manufacturing, skilled jobs and the next generation of Australian industry.

“Australia has always been at the heart of who we are. Since our grandfather, Roy Galvin, bought into the business in 1947, our family has remained committed to Australian manufacturing. This new factory reflects our confidence in local industry and our commitment to providing water solutions for a healthier environment,” said Chris Galvin.

The facility supports the local design and manufacture of specialised taps and valves for high-care and high-risk environments, backed by technical expertise, responsive service and strong global partnerships. It demonstrates Galvin’s confidence in the commercial plumbing market and its long-term commitment to partners and projects in Australia and internationally.

Designed for Sustainability, Safety and Quality

Environmental considerations shaped the building brief from the outset. By reusing the existing concrete slab and structural steel frame and incorporating energy-efficient features such as external louvres and infrastructure for water recirculation, Galvin has taken practical steps to reduce the building's environmental footprint. Galvin continues to use 100% green renewable electricity through its grid purchasing arrangements and extensive solar investment. EV charging infrastructure has also been installed, with further solar and battery capacity planned to support the electrification of its operations.

These initiatives support Galvin's journey towards a 6 Star NABERS rating and its commitment to creating a more efficient, sustainable workplace for the long term.

The site also represents a significant investment in safety, operational excellence and product quality. Modern extraction systems improve employee safety and manufacturing conditions. Electric narrow-aisle forklifts replace gas-powered equipment while improving safety and storage density. A dedicated quality and testing laboratory strengthens Galvin’s in-house testing capability and continued focus on quality and innovation.

A Place for Collaboration and Innovation

A dedicated collaboration room will bring cross-functional Galvin teams together with customers, specifiers, plumbers, facility managers, carers, and other end users, to develop products and solutions informed by practical experience.

Building on the collaborative approach established through Galvin’s industry-first Experience Centre, the space creates new opportunities to explore ideas, test concepts and address the needs of high-risk and high-care environments.

“The new facility gives our people and industry partners a place to work together more closely. By bringing different perspectives into the product development process, we can build on our design expertise and create practical solutions for the people who specify, install, maintain and use them,” said Tim Galvin.

A New Look for a New Era

The opening also coincides with the introduction of a refreshed visual identity for Galvin. The updated logo and contemporary appearance reflect the business’s evolution from a generalist foundry manufacturer to a modern designer and manufacturer of commercial plumbing products, while honouring the expertise, capability, and reputation built over generations.

"While our visual identity has evolved, our purpose remains the same: providing water solutions for a healthier environment. Our refreshed look gives us a stronger, simpler brand expression that reflects who we are today and where we are heading,” said Tim Galvin.

The Next Generation

The new headquarters supports Galvin’s long-term succession journey, with fourth-generation family members Tim, Tom, and Alex Galvin contributing to the company’s future. Conceived as a fourth-generation Galvin building for the next generation of owners, it provides a strong platform for the decades ahead. Their involvement brings new perspectives across leadership, digital technology, operations and procurement while preserving the values and culture that have guided the family company for generations.

Together, the new facility and fourth-generation involvement position Galvin to continue evolving as a leading Australian designer and manufacturer of taps and valves, with the scale, capability and global partnerships to support customers, project partners and communities for decades to come.
