Building a Healthier Future 

The multi-award winning Murdoch Health & Knowledge Precinct (MHKP) is a landmark mixed-use development located 12 kilometres south of Perth’s CBD. Designed as a hub for healthcare, research, education, commercial activity, and residential living, the 9.6-hectare site sits alongside Fiona Stanley Hospital, St John of God Murdoch Hospital, Murdoch University, and major public transport links.

Stage 1, known as Murdoch Square, comprises five multi-storey buildings and introduces WA’s first medi-hotel for patients in recovery, 182-bed aged care facility, private mental health facility, NDIS apartments, private hospital, short-stay accommodation, retail, and commercial office space. This vibrant precinct is expected to create up to 35,000 jobs and provide homes for 22,000 residents once fully developed.

Galvin Engineering was proud to support the delivery of this significant health and community precinct, working in partnership with Cooke & Dowsett Plumbing to supply a broad range of durable, compliant and purpose-built plumbing solutions. Installed across healthcare, aged care, commercial and residential areas, our products were carefully selected to address the specific challenges of the precinct, including mental health safety, ligature and vandal resistance, hospital-grade performance, and long-term reliability.

Outcome

The Murdoch Health & Knowledge Precinct is now operational, with Murdoch Square delivering new healthcare, residential, retail, and community amenities for Perth’s southern corridor.
