Project Description

Established in 1898, St John of God Subiaco Hospital offers a wide range of highest quality services, caring for inpatients, outpatients and day patients across a range of specialties including maternity, medical, surgical, rehabilitation and allied health. 

Currently undergoing the largest transformation in the hospital’s 123 year history the redevelopment will ensure the health care needs of the community are met into the future by adding a new private emergency department, a mother and baby unit, a virtual care hub, and a purpose-built pandemic ward to care for patients when outbreaks of highly infectious diseases such as COVID-19 occur. 

St John of God Subiaco Hospital CEO Tina Chinery commented that “the redevelopment will also set the standard for the future of private health care and facility design by transforming care delivery, the patient experience and the health care environment,”. 

Works include the upgrade of the hospital’s existing kitchen, which allowed the recent expansion of the room service menu to all patients hospital-wide as well as the hospital’s Sterilisation Services Department to accommodate a planned increase in theatre capacity.
