Specification Data Sheet

Exposed services basins are not specified for high-acuity ligature-resistant environments. Where the project requires full ligature-resistant specification, see the ligature resistant concealed services range 123.01 and 123.02.

The Wallgate exposed services solid surface range delivers the durability, hygiene and refurbishment benefits of solid surface composite with conventional exposed plumbing – suited to public, transport, education and lower-acuity environments where vandalism resistance is the controlling specification requirement, not ligature resistance. The range includes wall-mount basins with 0, 1 or 2 tap holes, and standalone shrouds for trap and fixture protection on new or existing installations.

The Wallgate 2-tap-hole exposed services solid surface basin is specified for refurbishment projects, education facilities and lower-acuity healthcare environments where separated hot and cold tapware delivery is required without the cost of full concealed services specification. The two tap holes accept standard dual-control wall-up or basin-mount tapware and the one-piece moulded body delivers a warm-touch, refurbishable finish – distinguishing it from ceramic and stainless steel alternatives.

Why Specify

  • Vandal resistant – solid surface composite, non-porous, polished and tough
  • Shatterproof – solid surface absorbs impact without fracturing
  • Normalised aesthetic – domestic basin profile and finish, designed to mimic a home-like environment rather than a custodial or clinical one, supporting patient dignity and recovery in mental health and aged care settings
  • Warm to touch – unlike stainless steel, solid surface composite does not retain the cold of the bathroom environment, which matters in cooler climates, unheated ensuites, and for users with tactile or sensory sensitivities
  • 2 tap holes – separated hot and cold tapware, or basin-mount mixer with separate isolation
  • Also available with 0 or 1 tap holes (see Alternative Product Options)
  • Front or rear fixed installation – suited to new build, refurbishment or panel-mounted projects
  • Refurbishable in situ – surface can be sanded and re-polished on the wall, no replacement required
  • Compatible with standard waste fittings (sold separately)

Applications

Specified where the durability and refurbishment benefits of solid surface are required without full ligature-resistant specification:

  • Healthcare and aged care refurbishment projects – particularly where rear-wall service routing is not available
  • Education and tertiary facilities – robust, vandal-resistant basin with simple tapware specification
  • Public-facing washrooms in government and institutional buildings
  • Lower-acuity healthcare environments where the operational benefits of concealed services do not justify the additional cost

Note: this product is not specified for high-acuity ligature-resistant environments. For ligature-resistant specification, see concealed services range 123.01 and 123.02.
